Training offerings for a more sustainable indoor environment
May 27, 2024Making the Netherlands more sustainable is causing changes. Insulation, heat pumps, solar panels and batteries play a major role in this, but a properly functioning ventilation system is just as important. Especially in renovations, the importance of good ventilation is still sometimes overlooked, often due to ignorance of the health benefits, costs and installation space.
'Energy thinking' is spreading like an oil slick, and the realization that ventilation technology has long since ceased to be a luxury is thankfully growing. This has direct implications for our industry. The demand for skilled workers is rising, making the shortage increasingly palpable.
Binnenklimaat Nederland, Techniek Nederland and IW Nederland see a solution to address this shortage by training novice mechanics, lateral entrants and experienced mechanics. This will prepare them to work in ventilation technology.
For Novice Mechanics and Lateral Entry Mechanics
Beginning mechanics or lateral entrants have two right hands and the right motivation to get started in ventilation technology. They are trained during a 9-day boot camp to "Basic Ventilation Technician" and receive the industry's Trade Diploma. Want more information about this bootcamp and how it can help you as an employer? Check out: Bootcamp Basic Ventilation Technician.
For Experienced Mechanics
For experienced technicians, there are four ventilation technology-focused modules: Application & Operation, Installing, Maintenance and Troubleshooting. More information and opportunities to register can be found here:
