Calculation tool energy-saving air curtains 2022
Calculate energy and CO2 savings with energy-saving air curtains in 6 easy steps.
This tool was developed by Binnenklimaattechniek and TNO, based on the ISSO-110 standard. The user-friendly and versatile tool makes the calculation based on the entered building characteristics. These include the size and type of opening, how often it is open, a building's type of heating system, as well as energy prices. Experts can even go deeper into the calculation tool and adjust technical parameters.
For a store where the door is closed by default, at an average opening time of 9 hours, the effective time the door is open will be about 2 hours. The usage times in the tool are conservative. With busier stores, the number of hours the door is open will increase and the savings will increase further. The calculation shows that investment in an air curtain already makes sense at 2021 energy rates, but certainly at current energy rates.
